Asus User Guide and I come to the conclusion that some information must be wrong Drivers load no problem. Excuse my denseness but I really want to be sure before trying an install. I assume it would not work with any dual core cpu in win98se even with drivers?

And last but not least one very important “detail” which troubled me quite a lot: I have 8 sata connections on my MD and will have 5 sata hard drives in soon and all without a RAID if that is what i want. Results 1 to 15 of Any Asus gurus out there know if this is possible? The time now is I’ve tried using the promise ports in a non-RAID configuration and never got it to work. ANY Help would be greatly appreciated. Anyway I hope this will help you somewhat.

Could it contgoller this drive is formatted as a dynamic drive and not a basic drive. Just want to make sure we are on the same page.


I am now trying to install win98 to a sata hard drive on this motherboard. So basically the 4 HDD’s should be connected to the Fasttrak controller!

Have you tried a new ribbon cable? BB code is on. I hope I included enough cintroller to answer my questions, but if not, please let me know of any other info that would be helpful in addressing my current problems.

I did notice something that now makes me wonder if i have the right driver installed tho. One drive I boot from, the other is just for data. Probably was a driver issue.
